Starting on Monday 16 April for two weeks, contractors will be laying a new bound surface on the Museum drive and improving drainage, thus hopefully improving access, especially for disabled visitors.
To enable this to happen, the usual main entrance will be closed to the public, and visitors directed into Goonvrea Road and through the main gates of the graveyard. They will then approach the Museum from the rear of the building. The Museum will be very much open for business as usual!
Prior to the surfacing being laid, two enormous granite bedstones outside the Museum will be rearranged so that, at last, they are correctly positioned, which mining enthusiasts will welcome.
We look forward to welcoming you during these works.
