St Agnes Museum has just acquired three items for its collection – all very different, but equally appreciated.
Firstly, we were given this set of crested china from Three Burrows Primitive Methodist Church, together with a photo of the china in use at a Tea Treat. Three Burrows Methodist Church was built just outside St Agnes Parish boundary, but as many of its worshippers came from Blackwater, this gift fitted our criteria for accepting it into our collection.
Our second donation is a lovely original painting of Rocky Lane by one of the village’s best loved artists, the late Gwen Clay.
The third item, which we bought at auction, is a set of three keys, each impressed with “GWR”, tied together with an old luggage label with St Agnes Station written in spidery handwriting.
